Wire Thread tap are composed of a working part and a handle. The working part consists of a cutting part and a calibration part. There are several (usually three or four) chip grooves in the axial direction, which correspondingly form several blade edges (cutting edges) and front corners. The cutting part (i.e. incomplete tooth part) is an important part of cutting threads, often ground into a conical shape to distribute the cutting load among several teeth. The cone angle of the head cone is smaller, with 5-7 teeth; The cone angle of a bipyramid is larger, with 3-4 teeth. The calibration section has complete teeth for smoothing threads and guiding the axial movement of the tap. The handle has a square head, which is used to match the hinge and transmit torque.
When using a head cone to Tap manufacturer threads, first screw it in 1-2 turns, and then check whether the tap is perpendicular to the end face of the hole (which can be visually inspected or checked in two directions perpendicular to each other with a square ruler). After the cutting part has been cut into the workpiece, it should be reversed by 1/4 turn every 1-2 turns to prevent chip breakage; At the same time, no more pressure should be applied (i.e. only rotating without applying pressure) to prevent the tap from breaking or the threaded teeth from being thinner.
2. According to the specifications of the threaded holes on the workpiece, choose the Cutting tap correctly, with the first cone followed by the second cone, and do not use it upside down.
3. Internal threads on steel parts should be lubricated with engine oil to make the threads smooth, labor-saving, and extend the service life of the tap; Internal threads on cast iron can be threaded without lubricant or with kerosene; Internal threads on aluminum, aluminum alloys, and copper can be treated with emulsion.
When clamping the workpiece, the center of the hole should be perpendicular to the clamp to prevent the thread from being misaligned.
5. Do not blow the chips directly with your mouth to prevent them from flying into your eyes.
