How to solve the problem of Tip tap fracture during the use of rocker drilling machines?
2025-09-01 11:27:34

During the use of a radial drilling machine, the breakage of tap wrench often occurs suddenly under high stress, causing the cutting edge of the Tip tap, which is broken in the screw hole, to be tightly wedged into the metal.

It is generally difficult to separate the cutting edge of an Tap faucet from the metal. In order to loosen the Tip tap in the screw hole, vibration method can be used.

When vibrating, use a pointed chisel to press against the chip groove of the Tip tap, and use a hammer to gently tap the front and back marks of the thread repeatedly until the Tip tap loosens.

When the broken part of the Tip tap is in the hole, two nuts can be screwed onto the broken Tip tap with a square tenon, and steel wires (the number of which is not different from the number of grooves in the Tip tap) can be inserted into the empty grooves of the broken Tip tap and nut. Then, use a hinge bar to pull out the square tenon according to the exit target, and take out the Tip tap without power.

If it still cannot be pulled out, an acetylene flame or a blowtorch can be used to anneal the Tip tap, and then a drill bit can be used to drill. At this time, the diameter of the drill bit should be smaller than the diameter of the bottom hole, and the drill hole should be aimed at the center to prevent the thread from being damaged. After drilling the hole, a flat or square punch should be inserted and the Tip tap can be unscrewed with a wrench.
