At present, Manual tapping still holds a certain position in mechanical processing. Due to the limitations of the location or part shape of some Screw Thread tap holes in actual production, they are not suitable for machine tapping spiral pointed tap. Therefore, it is necessary to use spiral threads. At the same time, the diameter of small thread tapping holes is small, and the strength of spiral pointed tap is low. When machine tapping spiral pointed tap, they are easily broken, and manual tapping is generally used.
In general, the workpiece should be placed on the side of the Reverse thread tap that needs to be attacked, in a horizontal position. If the Screw thread tap is not aligned at the beginning, it can be rotated out, corrected with a two cone, and then used with a head cone to attack the Screw thread tap. When all the cutting parts of the Screw thread tap enter the workpiece, there is no need to apply axial force, and the Screw thread tap can naturally rotate in.
When attacking spiral pointed tap, each time the hinge bar is rotated, the rotation of the Screw thread tap should not be too much. Generally, it is advisable to rotate 1/2 to 1 turn each time. For spiral pointed tap below M5, the rotation should not exceed 1/2 turn at a time; When manually tapping fine toothed spiral pointed tap or spiral pointed tap with high precision requirements, the feed rate should be appropriately reduced each time.
The speed of tapping cast iron can be slightly faster than that of tapping steel. After each screw in, it can be reversed by about half of the stroke of the screw in; When attacking deeper spiral pointed tap, the rotation stroke is larger and needs to be twisted back and forth several times to break the chips, facilitate chip removal, and reduce the phenomenon of chip sticking on the cutting edge. This ensures that when starting to attack the Screw thread tap, the Screw thread tap is placed as straight as possible, the generator release paper is pressed against the axis direction of the Screw thread tap with one hand, so that it is easier to determine and maintain the direction of the Screw thread tap perpendicular to the base surface of the workpiece when attacking the Screw thread tap. The workpiece being processed must be clamped correctly.
After the Screw thread tap rotates 1-2 turns, observe from the front or side whether the Screw thread tap is perpendicular to the Screw thread tap base of the workpiece. If necessary, use a right angle ruler for correction. Generally, after attacking the Screw thread tap 3-4 turns, the direction of the Screw thread tap is basically determined. However, manual tapping does have many problems, so we must adopt accurate tapping methods for spiral pointed tap to ensure the quality of spiral wire tapping processing.
